CEPPEA Held the Fifth Meeting of the Ninth Council

On May 7, the China Electric Power Planning and Engineering Association (shorted as CEPPEA) held the fifth meeting of the ninth council in Shanghai. The meeting was attended by the association's chairman, Wu Chunli, who delivered a speech, and the executive vice chairman, Li Aimin, who presided over the meeting. Vice chairman Zhou Jianping, Pang Ke, Chen Jing, Zhang Tianguang, Zhang Yiguo, as well as 195 representatives from council member units and the association's secretariat, were also in attendance.

 

Wu Chunli pointed out that in 2023, despite the complex international environment and the challenging tasks of reform, development, and stability, the power engineering industry earnestly implemented the government's decisions and deployments, adhered to the general principle of making progress while maintaining stability, and further improved the quality of development. The industry delivered a better-than-expected performance, showcasing great resilience. Under the united leadership of the council, the association focused on industry hotspots, challenges, and member needs, enhanced its service awareness, expanded service methods, and carried out various activities in an orderly manner. It played a positive role in serving the government, the industry, and its members, achieving good results.

 

Wu Chunli emphasized that this year is crucial for the power engineering industry to seize opportunities, meet challenges, and promote high-quality development. The association must accurately understand the situation, firmly maintain confidence and determination in high-quality development, stay true to its original mission, and effectively fulfill its responsibility to serve the industry's development. It should unite and collaborate to gather a strong force leading the industry's development. In addition to continuing the routine services, Wu Chunli offered 4 requests to the association: enhance learning and research to identify key points to serve enterprises; continuously innovate to improve the quality and effectiveness of its services; leverage the expertise of the association to provide professional guidance for high-quality development of enterprises, and strengthen its own construction to proactively undertake responsibilities, actively contribute, and improve its work capacity.

 

In the work report, acting secretary-general Zhang Bingcheng stated that in 2023, the association earnestly implemented the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, adhered to the new development concept, implemented the new national energy security strategy, closely focused on achieving the "dual carbon" goals and building a new type of power system, upheld its principle and fulfilled its mission of leading the industry's development. Various tasks achieved positive results. The year 2024 is crucial for achieving the goals and tasks of the 14th Five-Year Plan. The association will be guided by Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, base its work on the new development stage, implement the new development concept, serve the national strategy, serve the industry's green, low-carbon, and digital transformation, serve the construction of a new type of power system, and serve its members to the high-quality development. It will assist in developing new productive forces with higher standards, stronger efforts, and more practical measures.

 

The meeting heard and reviewed the "CEPPEA Work Report in the Fifth Meeting of the Ninth Council " and the "2023 Supervisory Board Work Report."

 

The meeting invited Wang Zhixuan, deputy chairman of the expert committee of the China Electricity Council, to present a report on research outcomes regarding "dual carbon" work.

 

The meeting awarded the Ninth Electric Power Engineering Science and Technology Progress Award and commended the advanced enterprises and outstanding entrepreneurs in the power planning and design industry from 2020 to 2023.

 

The concurrently held seventh meeting of the ninth executive council approved the new technical committee's working regulations, reviewed and approved the report on the qualification review of new member units in 2024, and deliberated on the proposal to establish a leadership group for the CEPPEA's re-election work.
