2024 International Business Experience Exchange Conference Held Successfully in Nanchang
On October 24, 2024, the China Electric Power Planning and Engineering Association (CEPPEA) successfully organized the 2024 International Business Experience Exchange Conference in Nanchang. The event was hosted by CEPPEA and co-organized by PowerChina Jiangxi Electric Power Engineering Co., Ltd.
The conference was attended by Li Yinan, Vice Chairman of CEPPEA, Gao Hong, Vice Secretary-General, and Ren Haihong, Director of the Design Management Department, Technology Center, PowerChina International Group Limited, who all delivered speeches. Yan Xiaofen, Vice General Manager of Jiangxi Electric Power Engineering Co., Ltd., offered a welcoming address, while Zhang Li, Vice General Manager of China Power Engineering Consulting Group Co., Ltd., Fei Quan Chang, Deputy Chief Engineer, and Senior Expert Zhu Ming of the China Electric Power Planning and Engineering Institute, participated in the conference and gave special presentations.
The conference was chaired by Zhao Daming, Director of the CEPPEA Business Coordination Department. Over 100 representatives from more than 50 member companies, including leaders responsible for international business and legal affairs, attended the conference.
In his speech, Gao Hong reviewed the achievements of China’s domestic and international power business in 2023, summarized the overall industry performance, and introduced the completion of CEPPEA’s work in 2023. He analyzed the current international market situation and provided suggestions for international business development. These included focusing on international energy and power trends, utilizing both domestic and international markets, expanding high-level international cooperation, cultivating and introducing composite international talent, enhancing core competitiveness, avoiding price-based competition, and strengthening compliance and governance systems for better overseas management.
Ren Haihong shared insights on the development of China Power Engineering Group’s international business, focusing on key regions and countries, emphasizing planning-first approaches, leveraging core business advantages, seizing opportunities in the construction of new energy power systems, maintaining risk prevention awareness, and pursuing a win-win cooperative model for market expansion.
Following the speeches, Zhang Li presented on "China Electric Engineering’s International Business Experience," analyzing the trends in overseas clean energy development, introducing investment in international power projects, and highlighting the risks involved in overseas renewable energy planning and development. Fei Quan Chang presented on the "Exploration and Practice of International Business by the CEPPEI," reviewing the Institute’s international business progress, its recent work, and proposing further cooperation with peer organizations abroad. Senior expert Zhu Ming provided data-driven insights on the domestic and international development environment in the engineering industry, offering suggestions for sustainable development capabilities in international business.
Representatives from six companies, shared their experiences on international project management, contract management, localized management, and international market development under the Belt and Road Initiative.
During the discussion phase, representatives exchanged valuable international market development experiences and expressed their gratitude for the work done by CEPPEA. The discussions were fruitful and helped to achieve meaningful outcomes.
In his concluding remarks, Li Yinan, Vice Chairman of CEPPEA, emphasized the importance of international business in achieving high-quality development. He highlighted the need for member companies to focus on quality, scale, and technological innovation across key areas such as traditional survey design, engineering general contracting, and investment-related businesses. He further noted that international business should be planned and implemented early to create stable business and cash flow for healthy growth. He concluded by stating that CEPPEA would continue to enhance services in areas such as policy exchange, innovation, legal risk control, financial management, and party-building work, to support industry development and provide a high-quality platform for member companies.
