The First Wind Power Generation Project in the UAE Constructed by POWERCHINA was Officially Commissioned
Recently, the UAE Wind Power Demonstration Project, the first wind power generation project in the United Arab Emirates, constructed by Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina), was officially commissioned and connected to the grid in the capital city of the UAE, Abu Dhabi.
UAE Wind Power Demonstration Project
The UAE Wind Power Demonstration Project has a total installed capacity of 117.5 megawatts, consisting of four wind farms. The project includes a total of 23 wind turbines with individual capacities of 4.5 megawatts and 14 megawatts of photovoltaic, spreading across Abu Dhabi and the Fujairah mountain area. The project's construction took place in diverse and complex terrains, such as islands, semi-deserts, and mountainous regions.
It is understood that this project is a concrete example of China-Arab cooperation in production capacity, driving the export of Chinese technology and equipment. The completion of the project holds significant importance for validating the feasibility and key performance indicators for wind energy development throughout the UAE, making a positive contribution to the UAE's energy transition and diversification efforts.
