The First International 100 MW Advanced Compressed Air Energy Storage Power Station Achieved Grid-connected Power Generation
On September 30th, the first international 100 MW advanced compressed air energy storage demonstration project achieved grid-connected power generation in Zhangjiakou, Hebei.
The demonstration project, whose technology is provided by the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, with a total scale of 100MW/400MWh, a core equipment autonomy rate of 100%, an annual power generation capacity of more than 132 million kWh, is the largest and most efficient new compressed air energy storage power station in the world at present. it can provide power guarantee for about 50,000 households at peak power consumption, save 42,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 109,000 tons every year.
The advanced compressed air energy storage technology with the advantages of large scale, low cost, long life, clean and unlimited energy storage period, is a potentially long-term and large-scale energy storage technology. It can realize many functions such as peak shaving and frequency regulation of power system, and has broad development space and strong competitiveness in improving the efficiency, security and economy of power system.
